Some new songs

I recorded these three songs at home on my computer using a condenser mic, my guitar and piano, and Garage Band. It took about 6 hours to get six decent minutes of audio on a Saturday morning/afternoon.

The first track is an instrumental that is meant to lead into the second track:
Track 1 (9mb)

Track 2 (14mb)

Track 3 (27mb)

Please comment/provide feedback! I would love to hear what resonates with people and doesn't. I've got a lot to learn.

Bishop

bristlecone pine tree,
warped and twisted in the wind,
tell me your story

Home

hope when i get back you remember
and my face doesn't look like a stranger's
a little greener a little weary
even a sprinkle or two of gray
and this sun tanned skin on my face
please excuse the wrinkles in their place.

when i get home soon
I promise a story or two
i'll make it up to you
when i get home soon

i'm know that i have missed some moments
probably the first time that you talked
i had to take advice that i heard
so you choose this road, now you must walk

when i get home soon
I promise a story or two
i'll make it up to you
when i get home soon

we wonder where are your front teeth
you say you lost them long ago
then hold your hands up like a field goal
the room laughs because we all know

when i get home you
you'll say "are you leaving so soon"
i'll make it up to you
when i come back soon

defined by line

Somewhere in between the lines that are drawn by the sky
we exist like some dust collected on a lens overnight
Sister tell me, did you love me more, when we were younger before
When I called you, at night, pull the shades and blocking out the darkening light

Take me back to the simple time
When all was defined by a heavy line
In case, you forget, have a sense of regret
put to the test, future hazy at best

Buried in a drawer that I hid all my drugs before
We found some albums, two or three, that reminded me of me
"Only in dreams", "Brass Monkey", "Magical Mystery", "Crooked Teeth"
"Iron and Wine", "I Walk the Line", " My Funny Valentine", "You Don't Know Me"
I once read it's all in your head, so why don't my dreams just let me be
Failing to write a song every night, my grade point average just won't help me
Still employed, I still avoid, confronting issues confronting me
so just....

Take me back to the simple time
When all was defined by a heavy line
In case, you forget, have a sense of regret
put to the test, future hazy at best

bird in a tree

The changing times, the tightening ties, our strangled youth
Then Someone lied, i learned we die, somewhere past 22.
Like an epitaph, we all must laugh, cause it ends too soon.
